The Band Of Friends is not a tribute to Rory, more of a celebration of his life and music. Rory's music reached a massive audience from Norway to Spain, from Japan to the USA. Covering all parts of the globe and producing some of the greatest Rock/blues albums of the 60's, 70's and the 80's. Sadly we lost Rory on Jun 14th 1995, to his devoted fans and followers, this was the ultimate tragedy. Band of friends is the band!

Visit 'Taste' Official Site, Taste was formed in Cork, Ireland in August 1966 as a trio consisting of Rory Gallagher on guitars & vocals, Eric Kitteringham on bass, and Norman Damery on drums. In their early years Taste played around the UK before becoming regulars at Maritine Hotel, an R&B club in Belfast, Northern Ireland. In 1968 the original lineup split. The new lineup formed with Richard McCracken on bass and John Wilson on drums. The new Taste moved permanently to London where they signed with the record label Polydor.

In 1990 after some serious persuasion from various sources, a 10th Anniversary gig is announced at The Town and Country Club in October. The gig sells out and another gig is subsequently announced. Gerry McAvoy and Brendan O'Neill are in the process of leaving Rory Gallagher's band and, through Mark Feltham, hear that Dennis is looking for a rhythm section to complete the line-up for the new Nine Below Zero. The chemistry is tested and the results are explosive. The public welcomes back Nine Below Zero with open arms and a sell-out UK tour takes place in December.
